A 1080p version would be great. Anyone?

@3 Soldier – They do 720p because not all have super large tv’s which support that resolution. I have a 51 inch Toshiba which supports 720 and 1080, but I go with the 720 on most copys because the file size can jump from 4-7gb for a movie, up to 11gb+ for a 1080. I rarely see much of a difference.

For example, I got Tron in 1080 because of the amazing special FX, but for a movie like The Crow, there’s nothing visually stimulating in it which makes me want to find a 13-16GB copy.

I can download on Megaupload and others at 1.5mb/s, but downloading 13gb+ just for a 2 hour movie is a beat down.

There’s a huge difference between 1080p and 720p in quality. Don’t know what the other person is talking about.

Soldier is wrong. There isn’t a huge difference between 1080p and 720p. The extra 5 to 7 gb a 1080p release has is not worth your bandwidth since the difference is negligible.

HONESTLY, it really depends. Tron in 720p looks fine cause the original was so-so quality, even though i’ve seen an old John Wayne movie that you can tell they spent proper time remastering it. Other movies is a WORLD difference in 1080p (cars on a 120hz tv for IE) versus 720p.
Think of it this way, play a game on good monitor at 1920×1080, switch the resolution to 1440×720 and tell me you don’t see the difference? Same thing with movies. Some movies i also just grab the 720p, if the difference isn’t worth the extra 8-9gigs more, SURE, i totally agree, but saying you don’t see a difference much is because your not set up right.
